DESCRIPTION OF THE CARDS

MULLIGAN:

The player may repeat the shot, it may be used anywhere on the golf course.

ONE PUTT

This card must be delivered before the player using it is going to execute his putt to the green. If the ball reaches the target and lands on the green, the putt will be awarded directly.

CHANGE BALL

The player will exchange his ball for that of another player, this card may be used as long as the number of strokes to be given by both players is the same.

FREE PENALTY

The player may be relieved from a penalty area (red and yellow stakes) without a penalty stroke.

RED TEE

The player shall tee off from the tee furthest forward. If, due to the player’s characteristics, that is his tee-off tee or if there is no tee-off tee, he will play a second ball and choose the one that suits him best.

BUNKER OUT

The player may remove the ball from the bunker without penalty, following the relief rule as if it were an immovable obstruction.

REPEAT SHOT

The other player must repeat the shot.

BUNKER SWAP

This card may be used against a player whose ball is on the green. The ball must be placed in the bunker closest to the green (it cannot be a fairway bunker), placing it in the place in the bunker that the player moving his ball believes to be the most appropriate.

ONE CLUB

The player must play with only one club for the entire hole until the ball is on the green. The club shall be chosen by the player concerned.

IRON PUTT

This card may be used against another player whose ball is on the green. The player whose ball is on the green must putt with a club other than the putter until the hole is completed.

TEE PRO

The other player must tee off from the white (pro) tee. In the event that the player’s characteristics make this his tee time or if there is no tee time, he will play a second ball and the player using the card will choose the ball to continue playing.

This card can be used in two ways, one, use it with the meaning of any of the other cards in the deck, or two, nullify the effect of the card used by another player against you (red colour).

METHOD OF PLAY

THE GOLF CARDS is not a closed game and can have multiple variants of play and rules, which we leave to the imagination of the golfers.

However, we describe a couple of variants.

The pack of cards is shuffled.

One of the players keeps the deck and is responsible for dealing the cards.

Rules

After finishing the first hole, the player(s) with the most strokes (stroke play) receives a card.

In individual match play, the player who has lost the hole will receive the card, if there is a tie, no card will be dealt.

In pairs match play the two players of the pair who have lost the hole shall receive the card. If there is a tie, no cards will be dealt.

On each hole the same process will be followed and the cards may be used on subsequent holes and will be discarded after use.

A player may not have more than two cards in his possession, so if after any hole he has three cards, he will have to discard one without any consequence.

If the pack of cards runs out before 18 holes, the discarded cards will be shuffled and play will continue.

Shuffle the cards.

Deal 6 cards to each player. Leftover cards do not come into play.

Rules:

Each player may play only one card per hole, except for the JOKER card, which may be used even if the player has played another card in the same hole.

The cards can only be used once in the whole round, being kept in their box until the next game.

As we say, the game can have multiple variants, if you think of one that could be fun, send it to us at admin@thegolfcards.es with the name you would like it to have, and it will be published on this page mentioning its author.
